Remuneration

Postby jeeva » 04 Oct 2007, 10:31

Hi,

My name is Jeeva and I'm new here. My question is:

Is it a norm for managers in India to have the privilege of using the company car & driver for their personal use?

Examples of personal use are such as picnic, shopping and etc.

Appreciate if anyone from India could comment, thank you.

Regards,
Jeeva

Hi Jeeva,
If the Car is provided by the employer and is used for Official purpose only then it will not attract Perquisite, but if the same car is used for personnel use it will attract perquisite.

Thanks,
Umesh
