About Payroll-Help/PayPerShop

The PayPerShop website was set up in 1997 by Ian Congreave and most of the information, news and articles on the site were written by him.  Up to 1993, Ian had a senior personnel role with a major national food retailer, where he managed and developed the personnel, payroll and related information systems, and eventually the payroll operation itself for 67,000 employees.  From 1994, Ian has worked as a self-employed writer and lecturer, specialising in tax and employment law as it applies to the payment of employees.  One of his principal clients is The Learn Centre, for whom he designs and maintains course material and writes the regular newsletters.

PayPerShop was set up with a view to providing HR and payroll news, a directory of HR and payroll-related products and a forum where professionals and members of the public can ask questions and find answers to issues relating to their jobs.  Many of these questions are answered by the participants of the forum and other experienced practitioners.

After several years of sponsorship, The Learn Centre took a more active role in the running of PayPerShop providing resources and expertise and taking over the day-to-day administration.  In June 2010 PayPerShop was renamed Payroll-Help and relaunched with a new look and feel.
