Tuesday, February 7th, 2012Do you employ agency temps and understand their new rights? Do your Christmas presents to customers and from suppliers bring you into conflict with the new Bribery Act? Do you know how to deal lawfully with employees who reach the age of 65? If you are in any way responsible for other employees and have any doubts about the answer to these questions then you need to take stock of your knowledge of employment law. Legislation changes all the time, not only by Acts of Parliament or Regulations, but also by binding decisions made by UK courts and the European Court of Justice. Don’t take any chances. A simple, albeit well-meant, error could land you in court, cost a lot of money and indeed bankrupt a small company. Build an Employment Law course into your training programme for the early part of the year and take a few colleagues with you. Better to be safe than sorry.
