The CIPP submits its formal response to HMRC’s RTI consultation

On 28 February, the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) submitted its official response to HMRC’s consultation on ‘Improving the Operation of PAYE: Collecting Real Time Information’.

A summary of the responses to the CIPP’s own consultation on the subject and a copy of CIPP’s full response to HMRC are available at the links below.

The full response is thorough and detailed but does, in the author’s view, raise far more issues than can possibly be resolved by April 2012, the date that RTI is scheduled for testing, and by January 2013, the date that it is planned to go live for large employers.
