Appropriate percentage: For 2011/12, the appropriate percentages for company petrol cars range from 15% to 35% for emission ratings of 125 to 225 g/km.  For 2012/13, the range, as already announced, will widen to between 11% and 35% for emission ratings of 100 to 220 g/km, with a fixed 10% for emission ratings below 100 g/km.

The Budget announces a further increase for 2013/14 to between 11% and 35% for emission ratings between 95 and 215 g/km, with the 10% rate applying to ratings below 95 g/km.  The objective is to encourage businesses to use ultra-low carbon cars.

There are no changes to the 0% charge for zero emission cars and the 5% charge for low emission cars with emission ratings up to 75 g/km

Car fuel benefit charge:  For 2011/12, the multiplier for the car fuel benefit charge increases from £18,000 to £18,800.  This change has already been given effect by means of a statutory Order.

Van benefit and fuel benefit charges: There is no increase for 2011/12 in the £3,000 van benefit charge and the £550 van fuel benefit charge.
