Wednesday, February 9th, 2011Last month’s nice little problem was this:
Last month you were left with the following simple question:
If you overtake the third person in a race, what position are you now in?
I’m sure you had no trouble with this one though some of your colleagues may have answered too hastily and said “second”. The person in front of the third in a race is of course running second. However, if you overtake the third person, you yourself are now running third, not second.

An air-plane, based in London but flying from Dublin to Athens, crashes on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Where should the survivors be buried?
Answer next month.
