Naming and shaming, end of default retirement age, stats about older workers, pension jargon, international payroll, flexible working, Ireland, Isle of Man

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Just before publication came confirmation of the abolition of the default retirement age between April and October this year.  The pros and cons have been fiercely argued in recent weeks and some statistical information from DWP about older workers helps to retain perspective.

Many of this week’s news items have an international slant, with a number of DTAs coming into force, clarification of the modified NICs arrangements, and an updated Residence booklet.

There are several more forum questions this week calling for your comments, but one from last week could do with some further help, on the payroll implications of TUPE.
