Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010The big issue to think about is – Christmas. Here are a few important considerations:
What is your policy about receiving presents?
Who will be on duty and remain sober at formal parties to make sure that nobody misbehaves?
Are you aware that, if a company sponsored function is held off-site and out of work time, in law it is still the place of work, and employees must behave themselves accordingly? You may choose to tell them that.
If you are having an alcoholic party, have you made arrangements for people to travel home safely?
Alcohol on site on the last day can lead to all sorts of problems. Better to ban it and instead let people leave early to go to the pub if they so wish.
If you are happy to let people wander around the site on the last day wishing each other seasonal greetings, allow those who don’t want to stay to go home and stuff the turkey.
Christmas is a time of good will. Isn’t it time to go and make it up with that miserable git in – well, you know who I mean?
Get these things sorted and you can relax and enjoy Christmas with your colleagues.
