Double Taxation – Convention DTA with Libya enters into force

The first time Double Taxation Convention between the UK and Libya, which was signed in London in November 2008, entered into force 8 March 2010.

In the UK the provisions of the Convention will take effect from 1 April 2010 for Corporation Tax purposes and from 6 April 2010 for Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax purposes. In Libya the provisions will take effect from 1 January 2011.
