PAYE Annual Returns – Magnetic media submissions no longer accepted

As magnetic media is not accepted by HMRC as a means of filing returns online, its use has diminished and relatively few computerised payroll systems now support it.  After consultation with users of magnetic media, HMRC has decided not accept any P14 and P35 Returns using magnetic media

• after 31 October 2010, for Returns for tax years up to 2009/10, and
• from 20 April 2010, for Returns for 2010/11.
