In October 2009, DWP published draft versions of some of the key Regulations governing the new pension personal accounts, due to come into operation in 2012. At that time we were able to issue, in this newsletter, a fairly detailed description of how automatic enrolment will operate. Since then a number of issues with the proposed automatic enrolment arrangements have been aired, resulting in further draft Regulations in January 2010 and in final Regulations on 11 March 2010. They come into force on 1 October 2012.
