Our news items this week cover CIS monthly returns, civil service redundancies and late payment penalties. Our FAQ looks at the provision of living accommodation. We have also started to add public and bank holiday dates to our various payroll calendars.

Next week we will bring you full coverage of the Chancellor’s Pre-Budget Report. Not that next April is a blank page of course. We already know about the limit to the personal allowance and the new 50% tax band. In theory, the negative inflation rate last September means that tax allowances and thresholds and NICs thresholds will not change. But will there be anything else?
