An important item this week is a series of “Myths and Realities” about Pension Personal Accounts, due to affect employers directly in 2012. The legislation is in place, most of the Regulations are out for consultation and the Personal Account Delivery Authority, the body responsible for the design and delivery of the scheme, is starting its programme of communication. We have already covered the “automatic enrolment” requirement in earlier newsletters and the latest discussion of popular misconceptions about the scheme is a useful contribution.

We continue our Employer FAQ section with an article about payments towards company cars, this time payments in respect of personal use. Can payments made by an employee in order to obtain a better car be offset against the tax liability?
