This week’s item about NICs thresholds and limits, prompted by new Regulations that introduce the changes to the NICs recording requirement from April, includes a little exercise to see how happy you are with calculating NICs using a calculator – or at least the first part of the process.
It is also time to start thinking about ordering paper copies of any 2009/10 booklets and year-end forms for 2008/09. All of the tax and NICs Tables are included on the Employer CD-ROM but, when you are calculating a payslip manually, don’t you think it is easier to use a real book than lines of figures on the computer screen?
Continuing our little series of FAQs about holiday entitlements, this week we look at controlling the rate at which workers take holiday in their first year of employment.
