Double Taxation Convention – Agreement with the Netherlands

A new comprehensive Double Taxation Convention between the UK and the Netherlands was signed by Ministers from both countries on 26 September 2008.  The Convention will enter into force once both countries have completed their legislative procedures.  In the UK the provisions of the Convention will take effect from 6 April for income tax purposes in the calendar year following the date of entry into force.  In the Netherlands, the provisions will take effect from 1 January in the calendar year following the date of entry into force.
